Associate Pastor, Roman Beach Baptist Church
Since 2011, Bro. Robert Gardner has served as Associate Pastor at Romar Beach Baptist Church, a seaside church and retreat center in Orange Beach, Alabama where he preaches for the 11 AM Worship Service. He is the grandson of the late Elder Wayland H. Stevenson of the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church.
A well known regional radio personality, Bro. Gardner previously worked as a radio broadcaster for 25 years, beginning as a DJ and newsreader in 1978, later as a broadcast journalist. He has been an activist with the Christian Coalition and worked to defeat casino gambling and later a lottery scheme in Alabama. After 25 years as a broadcaster, Robert says he was released on good behavior. His wife Melissa works as a college media reference librarian and an online university graduate school instructor.
