TREMONT METHODIST CHARGE FISHING DERBY

Hosted by Pat and Gayre Pounders at their lake

(approximately 10 miles north of Tremont just off of Hwy 23)

This will be a Two-Person Team (Youth/Adult) TOURNAMENT

WEEKEND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

SATURDAY, JULY 30, 2016

7:30-8:00AM—Team Sign-in

8:00-8:15AM—Devotion and Prayer

8:15-8:30AM—Review of Derby Rules and Regulations

8:30-10:30AM—Fishing Competition

10:30-11:00AM—Fish weigh-in and measuring

11:00-Noon—LUNCH at the Lake

                          Hamburgers and Hotdogs provided by the Tremont UMC for all who attend.

SUNDAY, JULY 31, 2016

10AM—DERBY TROPHY PRESENTATIONS (Charge Building prior to 5^th Sunday Service)

Look for signs directing you to the lake on Derby Day. The first signs will be located at approximately 20969 Hwy 23N, about ten miles north of Tremont on the way to Red Bay, AL. If you get lost call 662-401-4004 or 662-401-3695.

REGISTRATION FORM MUST BE MAILED TO: TREMONT UMC CHARGE FISHING DERBY, PO BOX 86, TREMONT, MS 38876.

Team registrations are FREE but must be postmarked no later than July 20^th

Each team MUST consist of ONE youth and ONE adult. One team member MUST regularly attend a member church of the Tremont UMC Charge (Mt. Olive UMC, Mt. Pleasant UMC, Tremont UMC or Asbury UMC).

FISHING DERBY RULES & REGULATIONS—2016

Registrations must be received or postmarked no later than July 20^th.

NO Registrations will be accepted the day of the fishing derby, July 30th.

There is NO entry fee to register, but at least one member of the team must attend a member church of the Tremont UMC Charge. Call Bro. Don at 605-929-4176 if you have questions about this requirement.

Top three teams from each division (catfish, bream, and bass) will receive trophies, as will the overall winner of the derby. Teams may fish in all three divisions, but can only win the top trophy in one division.

Fishing is restricted to Pounders Lake shore fishing. Fishing from boats or piers, swimming and wading automatically disqualify a team. Teams must supply their own bait, sun block and bug spray. Competitors are limited to two poles per team. 

Each species of fish will be weighed and its length measured. Winners will be determined by weight. If a tie, the length will determine the winner. Teams must be present at the awards ceremony on Sunday to win a trophy.

Participants agree to conduct themselves in a safe, litter free, courteous and ethical manner at all times. Any conduct that could negatively reflect on the UMC will be grounds for disqualification.

All decisions made by the Fishing Derby Director are final.
